Experts seem to have underestimated the popularity of small applications, or apps, among smart phone and mobile computer users. But mini-software for mobile phones is a booming market. Apple is the leading producer of new applications - with some 100,000 programs currently available. But many German software-makers are also profiting from the apps boom.
